Julio F. San José Alonso is an industrial engineer, expert in HVAC Engineering and professor of the Department of Thermal Engineering and Fluid-mechanics of the University of Valladolid.
His research activity is carried out both in the University and enterprise. His field of study is centered in HVAC systems, starting with the energy recovery from the ventilation exhaust airflow, during the pre-regulation period. Within this field he works in two complementary lines: the energy demand of buildings and the ventilation requirements of buildings, participating in numerous research projects and collaboration contracts as the subscribed with the healthcare institution of Castile and Leon (SACYL) for the development of standards for services in primary health care.
He has promote the Center for Energy Saving and Diversification (CADE) of Castile and Leon, which was assigned to the net of Technological Centers of Castile and Leon. He was its secretary during its first year, occupied different positions and was appointed in 1999 Director of Research of the Center. After de integration of the CADE in the Automotive Research and Development Center (CIDAUT) he was appointed Director of the Energy Saving and Diversification Area. Nowadays is collaborator of this research center.
In addition to his teaching activity at the University of Valladolid, he has carried out several academic management activities. He has represented Postgraduate students and Teaching Assistants, has been member of the commission to draft the statutes of the Department of Thermal Engineering and Fluid-mechanics and to implement the new curricula plan. He has been sub-director of the High Technical School of Industrial Engineering and Director of Studies during the implantation of new study plans and new degrees. He has been part of the faculty of the University, of the Commission for supervising of projects of the University of Valladolid.
Nowadays he represents the Department of Thermal Engineering and Fluid-mechanics as elected member from the Lecturers collective and is Director of the Renewable Energies Chair of the University of Valladolid.
